IMRSQD

IMRSQD (pronounced “I’m Rescued”) is a Namibian independent recording artist whose music blends Christian Hip-Hop, Indie Pop and Alternative Rock influences. His work is centred on faith, authenticity and emotional healing, exploring themes such as identity, depression, racism and spiritual renewal. Through honest storytelling and a distinctive melodic sound, he has become one of Namibia’s most-streamed artists, gaining growing international recognition. Born and raised in Namibia, IMRSQD grew up in a close family with four siblings, raised by his parents Augustina and Frederick Kint. He attended boarding school in Cape Town for nearly a decade before completing high school in Windhoek. Although he later studied medicine and qualified as a healthcare professional, a deepening Christian faith — shaped partly by personal experiences such as the loss of a sibling to suicide — eventually led him away from clinical practice and toward a full-time career in music. He has spoken openly about how discovering Christian Hip-Hop inspired this direction. Hearing artists like Lecrae and Andy Mineo express their faith so boldly encouraged him to write music that honoured God while remaining vulnerable and artistically authentic. That commitment is reflected in songs such as “PRIME,” “Lonely,” “Provider,” and projects like Sunday Notes, where he addresses struggles with doubt, comparison and purpose. “PRIME,” in particular, reflects on the temptation to chase success rather than spiritual grounding, a theme he describes as universal rather than purely personal. IMRSQD’s music has resonated deeply with listeners across Africa and beyond. He has been featured on major Christian music platforms such as Rapzilla, and has collaborated widely — including frequent work with American producer Moflo Music on tracks such as “Patience,” “Solay,” and “Run It Up.” His streaming success has been historic for Namibia, reportedly making him the first Namibian artist to surpass three million Spotify streams, and positioning him among the country’s most-played recording artists. Despite this recognition, IMRSQD continues to frame his work primarily as a ministry of encouragement. His songs reflect an ongoing journey of faith, questioning, honesty and resilience. By sharing his story — from medical school graduate to globally recognised independent artist — he aims to inspire others to embrace purpose, truth and hope. IMRSQD remains one of the leading emerging voices in spiritually-inspired alternative music from Southern Africa, building a catalogue that balances creative innovation with heartfelt devotion.
